Our Objective

The Fortune Port Corporation was founded in 2012 when Transport Canada gave up control and management of facilities and infrastructure such as this.

The fundamental reason for the formation of the Fortune Port Corporation was to prevent privatization and look after local town interests.

The Fortune Port Corporation is managed by a voluntary Board of Directors whose main purpose is to maintain and build on existing infrastructure, following Transport Canada guidelines. The Fortune Port Corporation is a not-for-profit organization that is self-sustained.

The Fortune Port Corporation has control and is responsible for maintenance and insurance for all wharf structures, CBSA building and the attached terminal for Saint Pierre Ferries.

The Fortune Port is one of the most diversified ports in the province as an international port housing the Canada Border Services Agency office, Ferry Terminal along with servicing local fishing enterprises and large corporations including Ocean Choice International, Royal Greenland and subsidiaries.

The Fortune Port Corporation employes an exceptional security team, maintenance and Port Supervisor all of whom report to the Board of Directors.

The objective of the Fortune Port Corporation is to maintain and grow on existing infrastructure and to ensure the ability to excel for generations to come.
